In 1986, during break at LA Trade Tech College, a witnessing team from Fundamentalist Baptist Tabernacle in Los Angeles witnessed to me and invited me to church. I went and listened to the preaching. Dr. Hymers was the Senior Pastor. I observed people at the church. I learned that I was a sinner. Jesus died for me on the cross and was resurrected. I knew that if I didn' t believe on Jesus, I would go to hell when I died. So I accepted Christ during the altar call. Dr. Hymers led me to Christ. God touched my heart, and I know I was saved then. Thank God!

What does our church mean to you:
Sunday school teaching from Brother Alvin Matinez and sermons from Pastor Jack Trieber encourage us and teach us to obey God’s Word in our Christian walk with God. Also, NVBC has great teachers and great school programs for our children.

I got saved in the Bataan Refugee Camp in November 15, 1992. The missionary’s name was Mrs. Lina Hervas. She came and witnessed to my family. My family members got saved, thanks to missionaries who took time to care for people like me.

I felt welcome at church. Everyone is very friendly. Pastor Trieber’s sermons and the Lifeline Sunday school class encourage me and teach me a lot about the Bible. I am very blessed to be a member of NVBC.
